That's not my perception of drummers as leaders. I've actually heard this crap spew forth from some pretty well read musicians.

You know, i hear all the comments about non-muso-listeners liking Gadd the best on the BRMSC2, but...everyone one of those that I showed it to walked away saying they liked SG too, but that guy on the far end - Vinnie whatsisname - that guy was just WHAILIN' the TAR outta those tubs... ;c)

Suspira...I'm totally with you...Braziluba...from about 8-9 minutes on is, to me, some of the most incredible grooving I've ever heard. I absolutely love that drumming. Watching Dave Play Tempo de Festival on the special section of the "Technique" DVD is a killer too

OK, my son does, now and then, get caught scatting along on the heads to some of DW's stuff while he's drawing. Great ears, both my kids. My daughter scores 100% on all her sight singing exams (high school freshman) and has very pinpoint intonation. At least she wore out the Shedaisy disc with Vincenzo. That's a start. The WC crack...they're just pushing dad's buttons. They love to see me go nuts.

Dave is seriously sick on Tiempo on the live disc. Actually, the whole band. Weingart's solo almost ran me off the road the first time I heard it. Sounds like the bastard child of McCoy Tyner and Michel Camilo. Dave's soloing is just ridiculous on that tune. The intensity in the quiet part just knocks me out...such control!!! [img]cool.gif[/img]
